Our Story
Kind Aligned Hearts, PLLC grew from years of working together, a meaningful friendship, and a shared belief in how children, teens, young adults, and their families deserve to be cared for.

Our story began in 2018, when Kristen Hickey was pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice at UMass Amherst. Dr. Allison Beckler, agreed to serve as her preceptor for her child and adolescent clinical rotation and later for her final residency. Kristen learned from Dr. Beckler not only about medication treatment, but also how to connect with young people and their families—with curiosity, compassion, and respect.

Dr Beckler continued to be a mentor and later served as Kristen’s medical director at Seven Hills Behavioral Health and TaraVista Behavioral Health Center. Through those experiences, our professional relationship grew into a friendship, grounded in trust and an aligned approach to care. Creating Kind Aligned Hearts together felt like a natural next step.

As our practice grows, we plan to welcome social workers and mental health therapists who have worked alongside us in acute inpatient settings. These relationships have shaped a shared vision: a place where psychiatric providers and therapists work together to develop individualized care plans and meaningful support for patients and their families.

We are a group of women coming together to create a better way of caring—one built on collaboration, connection, and respect for each person’s needs and strengths. At Kind Aligned Hearts, we want young people and their families to feel heard, supported, and actively involved in their care.
